Weddings

Chapel of the Good Shepherd, on the grounds of the Chautauqua Institution, is a summer chapel of the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York.

The chapel’s structure is a charming Victorian “country chapel” which seats approximately 70 persons. There is a lavatory but no dressing room (so wedding parties must arrive “ready to go”), and heat is minimal (a space heater). An elevator on the Park Ave. side makes the building fully accessible.

Contact the Rev. Luke Fodor for more information.

Baptisms

The vicar is happy to answer questions should family be interested in Holy Baptism. Generally speaking, it is not customary to hold baptisms in the chapel since the presence and support of the candidate in larger Christian community is a significant component of any baptism service. Contact the Rev. Luke Fodor to discuss options.

Memorial Services

Memorial services may be arranged upon occasion, when it is appropriate that the Chautauqua community be included in celebrating a Christian life and commending the deceased to God. Burial Rites of the Episcopal Church would be used. Please contact the Rev. Luke Fodor to discuss options.
